On October 9, WorkTech released its first Market Gravity Watch List, and Humareso is on it as a Gravity Builder in HCM / Core HR Services.
Here is what the list is, how it works, and why we are glad to be on it.
What the Watch List is
WorkTech is an advisory and intelligence firm that tracks the HR and work technology market, founded by George LaRocque. The Watch List draws on 17 years of market tracking and covers more than 1,900 providers across 65+ categories, from core HR and payroll to talent acquisition, learning and performance.
The list sorts that market by gravity. Some companies pull the market toward them. Most get pulled. WorkTech pictures the market as an hourglass:
- Gravity Leaders (45 companies). Wide at the top. These companies have the scale, acquisition activity and category standing that make them the reference point for everyone else.
- The Squeeze. The narrow middle. Plenty of these companies are healthy, valuable businesses, and by design they are not listed.
- Gravity Builders (45 companies). Wide at the bottom. These are companies building real pull, judged on momentum signals such as funding, hiring, customer wins and product releases; product and category fit; and fit with where investors are placing capital.
The list is a living one. WorkTech adds to it as assessments are completed, and each listed company reviews its own profile for factual accuracy before it is published.
What a Builder listing means
A Builder is a company WorkTech sees building real pull in a growing part of the market. Each listed company also has a Gravity Profile, which WorkTech describes as its independent one-page assessment of where a company sits in its market and why.
Why it matters to us
Humareso pairs experienced HR practitioners with our own software. George LaRocque put it this way: “Humareso shows what services-as-software looks like in core HR: experienced people accountable for the outcome, with their own software behind them. Leave is where the model is easiest to see, because the work is regulated, the stakes are personal and the record has to hold up.”
We take that as a sign the approach is being noticed by people who study the whole market. It also reflects the work our clients and our team put in every day.
A note on independence
WorkTech discloses on the Watch List page that it has active client relationships with nine listed companies, and Humareso is one of them. WorkTech states that its analytical conclusions and market assessments are independent of those relationships. We are sharing that here so you can weigh the listing with full context.
