Starting 14 days before your leave ends, you’ll get reminders about your return date. Three things keep the landing smooth:

  1. Confirm or change your date. If your return is moving — later or earlier — tell your leave team as soon as you know. If you need more time, request an extension before the end date.
  2. Check for a fitness-for-duty requirement. Some roles need a short note from your provider confirming you can perform your job’s essential functions. If yours does, it was stated in your approval paperwork — get it in before day one.
  3. Come back. That’s it. Your case closes after your return, and everything about it — letters, dates, documents — stays available under History.
Job protection is the point. Protected leave means restoration to the same or an equivalent position. If what you come back to doesn’t look like that, message your leave team immediately.
