Why does Engage say I need to upgrade?

Your organization is on the free plan, which limits team members, habits, objectives and review cycles, and does not include Premium features like Lead360. An admin can upgrade or start a Pro trial to lift the limits.

Engage's free plan includes the core of Engage with a few limits. You will see an upgrade message in two situations.

You tried to add more than the free plan allows. On the free plan, an organization can have up to 10 team members, 5 habits, 5 objectives and 1 performance review cycle. Engage allows a small buffer past each limit. When you go beyond it, adding another person, habit or objective is blocked and Engage shows a message that your plan's limit has been reached and that you can upgrade to add more. Nothing you already have is removed.

You opened a Premium feature. Some features, such as Lead360, are not included in the free plan. They show a Premium label in the left navigation and open a preview page instead of the feature. See Why does an Engage feature show an "Unlock" page?

What to do:

  • If you are an admin, open Plans & pricing to compare plans and upgrade, or start a free Pro trial. See Upgrading your Engage plan or starting a Pro trial.
  • If you are not an admin, let your administrator know what you were trying to do. Only admins can change the plan.

Organizations on a paid plan or an active Pro trial have no limits, so these messages do not appear.
