Are my responses really anonymous?
Your ratings of colleagues are only ever shown combined with others, and a habit needs at least 3 raters before any score appears. Engagement, Quick Pulse and open-ended answers are anonymous too. eNPS answers, MVP nominations and some follow-up feedback can carry your name.
Most of what you answer in Engage is anonymous, but not everything works the same way. Here is exactly what each kind of response shows.
Ratings of your colleagues (habit cards)
When you answer Often, Sometimes, Rarely or Don't Know about a colleague:
- Your rating is combined with everyone else's. The person, their manager and admins see a score for each behavior, never which provider gave which rating.
- No score appears at all until at least 3 different people have rated the habit, there are enough answers to cover every behavior, and the habit has unlocked. If your organization runs Lead360, it may set its own number of raters.
- On the habit's page, a score is shown only when there are at least 4 answers from the last 90 days.
- Don't Know answers never count toward a score. Managers see only the overall share of Don't Know answers, not who gave them.
- The person can see who is in their feedback circle, because they chose them. They cannot see when you answered or what you said.
One honest limit: if every provider gives the same rating, the combined score reflects what each of them said. That is true of any group result.
Lead360 reviews
Lead360 ratings work the same way: they are pooled with everyone else's and shown only as a group. Each participant needs at least 5 feedback providers, and results stay locked until enough providers have accepted.
Follow-up feedback
When a colleague requests written follow-up feedback, they read each response on its own. Whether they also see who wrote it depends on your organization's settings, and the request tells you before you send: either they will see your individual response and who wrote it, or they will see your individual response but not who wrote it.
Engagement and Quick Pulse cards
These answers are anonymous. Managers and admins see counts and percentages, not who said what. When results are broken down by team, location or another group, any group with fewer than 5 responses is hidden. Your organization can raise that number, but not lower it.
Open-ended questions
Admins read open-ended answers without names. A question's answers stay hidden until more than 5 people have responded.
Suggestions
Suggestions are anonymous unless you choose otherwise. On the dashboard Suggestions card, switching Send anonymously off (Sending as you) attaches your name so someone can reply. Suggestions from a feedback card are always anonymous.
Responses that can carry your name
- eNPS: if your organization has the survey response viewer turned on, admins, and managers for the people they can see, can view individual eNPS ratings and comments with your name, team and location. They can choose to hide names, but do not have to.
- MVP nominations: your name is recorded with the teammate you recognize.
- High fives are sent from you by design.
