How Paperwork Reminders Work

By Jamie AquilaLast updated Jun 18, 2026

Humareso Leave automatically reminds you before your paperwork is due, at 14, 7, and 3 days out. Here is when reminders are sent, what they say, and who receives them.

When your leave needs certification or other supporting paperwork, Humareso Leave sends automatic reminders so the deadline never slips by unnoticed. Here is exactly when those reminders go out, what they say, and who receives them.

When reminders are sent

Every case with required paperwork has a paperwork due date. You receive up to three reminders before that date:

  • 14 days before the due date. An early heads-up that gives you time to gather and submit your documents.
  • 7 days before the due date. A follow-up if we still do not have your paperwork on file.
  • 3 days before the due date. A final, urgent reminder that the deadline is close.

The countdown uses calendar days, not business days. Reminders only continue until your paperwork is received; once it is on file, they stop.

What each reminder says

The tone escalates as the deadline approaches. The first is a gentle prompt, the second a check-in (if you have already sent your paperwork, you can disregard it), and the third makes clear that the certification is needed right away. Every reminder links directly to your case so you can upload your documents in a couple of clicks.

Who receives them

You, the employee on leave, receive all three reminders. The final reminder, three days before the due date, also notifies the people supporting your case:

  • Your manager
  • Your HR partner on the case

This final loop-in lets them follow up with you directly so the paperwork is submitted on time and your leave is not delayed.

How to respond

Open the link in any reminder, which takes you straight to your case, and upload the requested paperwork there. As soon as it is received, the reminders end automatically. You do not need to reply to the email.

Good to know

  • Already submitted? You can safely ignore any reminder that arrives after you have uploaded your paperwork.
  • Prefer text messages? Reminders follow your notification preferences, so you can choose to receive them by email, by text, or both.
  • One reminder per milestone. You will never get duplicate reminders for the same deadline.
  • Why it matters. Certification paperwork is required to approve your leave. Without it, your leave may be delayed or denied, so submitting on time keeps your case moving.
