For HR Admins: Managing Leave Cases

By Jamie AquilaLast updated Jun 10, 2026

A tour of the leave admin workspace for HR teams: the case list, conversations, actions, extensions, employees, and metrics.

The leave admin workspace gives HR teams and the Humareso leave team a shared place to manage cases from request through return. This overview introduces the main areas so you know where to look when you need them.

Everything described here lives in the admin area of the leave portal at leave.humareso.com.

The case list

The admin area opens to your cases, which you can view as a kanban board or a table, whichever suits how you work.

  • Search by employee, case number, or reason to find a specific case fast.
  • Filter by status to focus on cases at a particular stage of the lifecycle.
  • Switch between the kanban and table views depending on whether you want a pipeline view or a detailed list.

This makes it easy to scan your workload at a glance or zero in on one case.

Conversations

Each case includes conversations so communication stays attached to the right record. There are internal threads for your team and employee-facing threads for talking with the person on leave. Keeping these together means context is never lost between people or systems.

Case actions

The admin area includes an actions rules engine that surfaces the next steps for a case. Rather than tracking every task by memory, you can rely on the system to highlight what needs to happen next, helping cases move smoothly through eligibility, paperwork, and decisions.

Extensions

When an employee needs more time, extensions are handled separately from the main case. An extension comes in as pending, and you can approve or deny it. Tracking extensions on their own keeps the original case clear while still capturing the additional time.

Employees directory

The employees directory gives you a view of the people you manage leave for. It provides a central reference point alongside the case list, so you can connect a case to the right person.

Company dashboard and more

The company dashboard surfaces metrics so you can understand leave activity across your organization. The admin area also includes tools for holidays, templates, automations, imports, and reports, giving your team the supporting pieces needed to run a leave program day to day.

Behind the scenes, HubSpot serves as the system of record, with each leave case associated to its company and contact. Notifications go out by email and text message, and templates can be tailored per client. Cases can even arrive by fax, which is processed and brought into the same workspace.

Can I view cases as a board or a list?

Yes. The case list supports both a kanban board view and a table view, so you can choose the layout that fits the task.

How do I find a specific case?

Use search to look up a case by employee, case number, or reason. You can also filter by status to narrow the list.

How do extensions work for admins?

Extensions are tracked separately from the main case. A new extension is pending until you approve or deny it.

Where do I see leave metrics?

The company dashboard surfaces metrics across your organization, alongside reports in the admin area.
