Every case moves through one pipeline. The most useful way to read a status: whose move is it?

  • Draft — Request started, not submitted. — Employee
  • Gathering Case Info — The leave team is setting up the case. — Leave team
  • Gathering Employee Info — Waiting on employment data (hire date, hours). — Client HR / employee
  • Determining Eligibility — Program eligibility is being worked out. — Leave team
  • Awaiting Paperwork — Medical certification is due back. — Employee
  • Final Decision — Paperwork in; determination being finalized. — Leave team
  • Pending ADA — Being evaluated as an ADA accommodation. — Leave team
  • Approved — Leave approved; start date ahead. — —
  • On Leave — The employee is out. — —
  • Closed — Returned and wrapped up. — —
  • Declined — Not approved, with the reason in writing. — —
  • Cancelled — Withdrawn before a decision. — —

Employees see these stages with friendlier titles and a suggested next step on their dashboard. Admins additionally see two markers outside the pipeline: merged (this case was folded into another) and deleted (retracted; restorable by an admin).
