Setting the Stage for Feedback
Lesson 1 of 3
Choosing the Right Time & Place
Timing and setting have an outsized impact on how feedback is received. This lesson helps you choose the optimal conditions for productive conversations.
Avoid giving feedback when emotions are running high — either yours or theirs. Wait until you can be calm, specific, and focused on growth.
In-person or video conversations are almost always better than written feedback for sensitive topics. Written messages lack tone and can easily be misinterpreted.
