Requesting a leave of absence should feel simple, even at a stressful time. The Humareso leave portal at leave.humareso.com walks you through a single request wizard that asks only the questions that apply to your situation.

This article explains how to start a request, what information to have handy, and what to expect once you submit.

Signing in or starting fresh

You can request leave whether or not you already have an account.

  1. Go to the leave request form to open the wizard.
  2. If you are signed in through auth.humareso.com using a magic link or single sign-on, the wizard pre-fills your name, email, phone, company, and work state for you.
  3. If this is your first time, simply enter your details. The wizard matches your company against the client roster so your request reaches the right team.

The interface is available in both English and Spanish, so you can complete your request in whichever language you prefer.

What to have ready

Gathering a few details before you begin keeps the process quick. Depending on your reason for leave, you may be asked for:

  • Your basic contact information and work state.
  • The reason for your leave, such as bonding, childcare, family health, employee health, or one of the other supported reasons.
  • Details about a family member, if your leave involves caring for someone. The wizard adds this step for bonding, childcare, family health, and military caregiver requests.
  • Maternity details, if applicable. For maternity leave the wizard asks for your expected due date, whether the pregnancy is high risk, and the birth method (vaginal, planned C-section, or unknown).

Because the wizard only shows the steps that fit your reason, you will not be asked for anything that does not apply to you.

What happens after you submit

Once you submit, your request becomes a leave case that the Humareso leave team can review. You do not need to do anything else right away.

From here, your case moves through a series of steps such as gathering information, determining eligibility, and reviewing any paperwork. You can follow along from your dashboard, where the portal shows the current status of your case and the next step, if one is needed from you.

If the team needs something from you, the portal will let you know through your actions feed and, where set up, by email or text message.

Do I need an account to request leave?

No. You can complete a first-time request without signing in. The wizard matches your company so your request still reaches the right team. Signing in simply pre-fills your details for you.

What if I am not sure of my reason for leave?

Choose the reason that best fits your situation. The leave team reviews every case and will follow up if anything needs clarifying.

Can I complete the form in Spanish?

Yes. The portal offers a bilingual English and Spanish interface, so you can request leave in the language you are most comfortable with.

What happens if my request involves a family member?
