How to Retrieve Files from the Upload Form

Need to grab a file someone uploaded through our form? Whether you’re tracking down a resume, a signed doc, or a mystery PDF—this quick guide has you covered.

Option 1: Find It Through the Contact Record

This method is great when you know who submitted the form.

  1. Log in to HubSpot.

  2. Go to Contacts → Contacts in the main navigation.

  3. Use the search bar to find the person (name, email, or phone all work).

  4. Click their name to open their contact record.

  5. Scroll through the Activity timeline or check the Form submissions section.

  6. Look for a note like “Submitted Upload Form.” Click “View submission.”

  7. You’ll see all their answers—including the uploaded file.

  8. Click the file link to download it. Voilà!

Option 2: Review All Form Submissions

Want to scan all uploads in one place? This method is faster when you’re not looking for a specific person.

  1. In HubSpot, go to Marketing → Lead Capture → Forms.

  2. Find the form titled “Upload Form” or search using the URL name.

  3. Click the form, then go to Actions → View submissions.

  4. You’ll see a table of every submission.

  5. Click the timestamp or eye icon to view details.

  6. Download the uploaded file from the file field.

Notes

  • File upload fields support most common formats: PDFs, DOCXs, images, etc.

  • If you’re not seeing the file, double-check that the form field wasn’t skipped.

  • Submissions are tied to the contact record, so deleting a contact removes their uploaded files too.
